LEVEL 2, one more step in sustainable design.

Andreu World has incorporated the LEVEL2® certification into its designs, the international standard that promotes the social responsibility of furniture and represents the maximum guarantee of transparency in the production process for the industrial equipment.

wearelevel-600.jpg

This standard - created by BIFMA (Association of Institutional and Business Furniture Manufacturers of North America) - allows for a more open and transparent assessment of the environmental and social impacts that originate in the manufacture of furniture and serves as a reference for architects, designers and interior designers from around the world when choosing more sustainable furniture

Andreu World is one of the first companies in Europe to achieve LEVEL2® certification for its entire catalog of designs. The LEVEL2® standard was created to offer the most open and transparent means of evaluating and communicating the environmental and social impacts of furniture on the built environment. In summary, LEVEL is for commercial furniture the equivalent of the LEED certification for the architecture and construction of buildings, an international accreditation that ensures the sustainability of spaces.

To achieve this, Andreu World has worked on the improvement and excellence of its production processes, in four areas: Materials, through the evaluation of the sustainability of the resources used in the manufacturing processes; Energy and Atmosphere, in which corporate sustainability policies, calculation of greenhouse gases in factories, and reduction of energy consumption in production centers have been evaluated; Human and ecosystem health: through management plans and reduction of generated waste and social responsibility, around the manufacture of the product within a safe work environment and compliance with prevention plans or commitment to society in projects that benefit the community.

Sustainable, healthy and universal furniture
When acquiring "sustainable" and "healthy" furniture, the evaluation of its environmental characteristics and healthy properties is often questioned. What about the characteristics beyond the materials? What about the processes involved in manufacturing? What about people's well-being in the manufacturing process?

At Andreu World we comply with the most demanding international regulations: British Standards, UNE, Cal 133 and BIFMA so that our designs: timelessly designed seats and tables are present today in more than 124 countries. We have certifications that certify excellence in manufacturing and environmental respect: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and 14006 for eco-design. In addition, to guarantee healthier environments, Andreu World also has the Healthcare Healthy interiors (HHI) certification that certifies safer environments and the commitment to more sustainable equipment in hospital spaces.

Andreu World was also the first design furniture company to have the full range of its wood collections with FSC certification, 100% sustainable wood from reforested forests and complying with the Chain of Custody, from the raw material to the final product.
